The Maryland Association of Floodplain and Stormwater Managers thanks everyone for attending our 15th Annual Conference. The event took place at the Maritime Institute of Technology in Linthicum, MD. This event included over 30 technical sessions sharing best practices and innovations in floodplain management, stormwater management, climate adaptation, outreach and community engagement, and mitigation. This year’s conference was pre-approved by ASFPM for 6 CECs.
There were vendor exhibits and networking opportunities for the 186 professionals from local, state, and federal government agencies, non-profits, academia, and the private sector. Conference attendance includes annual membership to our organization.

As a companion event to our conference, a Floodplain Management Training Workshop/Class was offered on November 6th, covering topics such as the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) regulations, community participation in the NFIP, reading and using Flood Insurance Rate Maps, insurance, mitigation, and other topics. This year’s training was pre-approved by ASFPM for 5 CECs.
The training was $50 (included lunch and refreshments) and took place on Wednesday, November 6 from 9:30am to 3:30pm at the National Wildlife Visitor Center at 10901 Scarlet Tanager Loop in Laurel, MD 20708.
