Harriet Festing is Executive Director of Anthropocene Alliance (Aa) a Chicago-based nonprofit that helps people harmed by environmental damage and climate change. Having worked for decades in both Britain and the United States, Harriet’s experience stretches across two continents and diverse fields — water, energy, agriculture, transportation and housing. She has worked in government, the non-profit sector, academia and even the monarchy! (She was Head of Communications at the Prince’s Foundation, led by HRH, The Prince of Wales.)
Flood Forum USA (FFUSA) is an initiative established by Aa to assist grass roots, flood survivor groups from across the country. FFUSA currently is working with more than two dozen, racially and economically diverse groups, and adding more all the time. It helps them with communication, education, and public outreach. FFUSA also matches up flood group leaders with local engineers, hydrologists, attorneys and social service providers to make sure they get the expert guidance they need to help solve local problems while advancing the national campaign against climate change and environmental abuse.
